blue ceramic bowl with hand-drawn heart and mark making lines
£30.00
Ceramic bowl with a hand drawn heart and hand drawn lines.
It is hand-thrown by me, and before the first firing, I put wax emulsion on the inner surface, and drew onto it with a tool, removing the wax emulsion. I then paint black underglaze onto it. The wax burns off after the first firing and the black remains on the areas where the wax was removed. It is very much like printmaking. It has blue celadon glaze on the inside and blue celadon with bone ash red on the under surface.
It is food safe as it has been in a stone ware firing which is high enough to vitrify the clay.
