sketchbook journals
I have kept a sketchbook of one sort or another for many years.In 2015 I started using the Artway journals. I really like the thick off-white pages which are good for watercolour, pigment pens and ink. I make in-situ drawings as well as documenting trips using maps, collage pages and drawings and infographics hand-drawn from photos or local reference. 
This is the first double page spread from a short visit to Portishead and Clevedon. I used my new instant camera to add photos as I went along, which is a really useful tool.

In situ sketch of Black Note Lighthouse at Black Nore Point, Portishead which was built in 1894. I did a little post production work, mainly on the small map and lower beach area, but it's mainly how I drew it in situ.

I went for a two day break to Glastonbury and this is the first page recording the journey and an encounter there with Merlin the Wizard.
I drew this sketchbook page illustration of White Horse Hill at Uffington, Oxfordshire from photos that I took earlier in the day. The weather was not good and it was getting dark.

In-situ drawing of Knightstone Island in Weston Super Mare using acrylic markers. I have only recently started using them, I love the painterly effect.
