In this workshop you will explore ways to collect inspiration for your jewellery creations using a sketchbook.

Sketchbooks are for taking with you when you are out and about to make drawing in and record things that inspire you. You can also collect interesting and inspiring visual material to stick into your sketchbook, make notes, scribble, tear, stick, collage the material to explore the subject matter,

Over time, you will build up a repository of ideas and visual material that is personal to you and this will help you make jewellery inspired by your own experiences.

In this workshop you will be taking inspiration from the environment and the materials provided. There will be plenty of reference books, some magazines, collage material etc as well as the internet, to make drawings from, copy, cut and paste, write down notes and jewellery ideas.

Please feel free to bring any reference material with you, but I will have plenty of books, collage material, paints, pens and pencils for you to use. You will be able to use an instant camera if you want to take photos of something in the environment to add to your sketch book during the workshop.
