sobell house: my lovely postcards 2025
These illustrations are my three entries for the ‘My lovely Postcards’ exhibition 2025. The artworks are exhibited at the SJE Church on Iffley Road, Oxford in May, and auctioned to raise money for Sobell House for Beth’s Bursary fund. This is the second time I have taken part, I also submitted three artworks in 2023.
I used these illustrations to have some fun experimenting with colour and using some gold calligraphy ink that I had bought a couple of years previously from the Tower of London Gift shop. It was perfect for the writing. I intend to do a series of illustrations on more of the weather vanes, but bigger than postcard size.
